Novio Oogzorg is an optometric practice for primary and intermediate eye care in Nijmegen, Gorinchem and Zwolle. We take over eye care questions that are too complex for an optician but do not (yet) require hospital care, and report the outcome back to you.

How to refer to Novio Oogzorg via ZorgDomein

In five steps you can digitally refer your patient to one of our optometrists in Nijmegen, Gorinchem or Zwolle.

Open ZorgDomein
Start ZorgDomein from your GP information system for the patient.

Choose the care service
Zorgaanbod › Paramedici › Optometrie/Orthoptie › Novio Oogzorg.

Choose the location
Nijmegen, Gorinchem or Zwolle – close to your patient.

Send the referral
Enter your question and send the referral letter.

Examination & report
Your patient will be seen at short notice. You will receive a report with specific advice.

Which patients can you refer?

reduced visual acuity or blurred vision without a clear cause
suspected glaucoma, raised eye pressure or family history
diabetes: periodic fundus screening
dry eyes and blepharitis
suspected cataract and assessment of the right moment for referral
macular complaints: distorted vision, metamorphopsia
binocular complaints, reading complaints, headaches
eye examination for the CBR (own fee, not via insurance)
pre-assessment and follow-up for refractive surgery

Not suitable for the optometrist: acute loss of vision, flashes with new floaters or a curtain, a painful red eye with reduced vision, trauma. These patients should go directly to an ophthalmologist or the out-of-hours GP service.

How it works

You refer via ZorgDomein (Novio Oogzorg, optometry) or the patient contacts us with your referral.
The patient is seen at short notice; there is no waiting list.
You receive a report with findings, policy and specific advice: back to you, follow-up with us, or referral to an ophthalmologist.
If referral to secondary care is needed, we indicate which subspecialty and with what urgency, so that you can refer in a targeted way.

Quality

Our optometrists are registered in the Dutch Quality Register for Allied Health Professionals (KP). CBR reports are assessed and signed by an ophthalmologist from Okulus, with whom we work. Examinations are covered and do not affect the patient’s deductible.
